The founder of the school, Maria Pia Melegatti, was born in Villafranca di Verona on 3 October 1939.
Training

 

  • 1962 After specific studies, she began her activity as a seamstress.

  • 1979 First recognition from "Elegance Mode Paris" for the quality of the fabrics used and models developed.

  • 1983 The fashion studio "Melegatti Maria Pia" is born in Verona.

  • 1990 The "La Sartoria" fashion school in Verona is born.

  • 1992 Participation in the Veneto festival "Dressing Europe".

  • 1994 The "Melegatti Maria Pia" atelier officially closes.

  • 1995 She graduates as a pattern making teacher at the Burgo fashion institute in Milan

L'Istituto Melegatti

 

  • 1996 "La Sartoria" fashion school closes and the first and only "Istituto di Moda Burgo" is established in Veneto of which Maria Pia Melegatti is owner and director.

  • 1996 The consultancy collaboration for the Verona boutiques of Versace, Gucci and Mariella Burani begins.

  • 2001 Gold mannequin at the National Academy of Tailors

  • 2004 The institute competes on an international designer event held in Berlin and is ranked second.

  • 2008 The students of the institute are awarded in the special section "Launching fashion" at the "Fashion and Costume" competition organized by the "Fashion and Verona Fashion Consortium".
